Ambuja Cements Ltd had informed the Exchange that due to heavy rains in and around plant area at Ambujanagar (Gujarat) resulting in flood, the Company had stopped the operations of the plants at Ambujanagar. The Company has now informed the Exchange that: "All the plants resumed operations in a phased manner between 11th August, 2007 and 29th August 2007. Loss of equipment due to flood is fully covered under the insurance policy. The Company has lodged insurance claims of Rs.12.5 crores with the insurance companies towards the estimated losses. The Company has suffered loss of cement production of about 2 lac tonnes due to this unfortunate event. Complete normalcy in full production is expected shortly".
