Alfa Laval India Ltd has informed about the Press Release published by Alfa Laval Group Sweden as follows:
"Alfa Laval - a world leader in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling — has received an order for a black liquor evaporation plant to West Coast Paper Mills Ltd in India. The order value is about SEK 60 million. Delivery Is scheduled for 2008. Alfa Laval delivered similar equipment to West Coast Paper Mills during 2001.
"It is very satisfying that the customer returns and orders products and systems to make its process even more efficient and at the same time increase the capacity. It shows the high quality of Alfa Laval's products." says Alfa Laval's CEO and President Lars Renstrom. "We have been present in India since 1937 and the rapidly increasing standard of living opens many opportunities for Alfa Laval within energy, environment and the food industry."
The contract contains a black liquor evaporation plant. Alfa Laval's tailor-made AlfaCond condenser plays a vital role in the system and ensures that 95% of the condensed water can be recycled.
Did you know that black liquor is a by-product obtained from cooking of fibrous raw material used in paper mills? It can be re-used as fuel in the mill's boiler to produce steam or power after being concentrated in an evaporation plant. This optimized process - with recovery of caustic and power generation — is pollution—free, thus greatly reducing the environmental impact."
