Software Technology Group ties up with University of Washington

Software Technology Group International Ltd has informed that Global Institute of Intellectual Property (GIIP) on January 04, 2008 announced an association with University of Washington, Center for Advanced Studies and Research on Intellectual Property (CASRIP), to collaborate for imparting world-class education in field of Patents & IP In India. In a related announcement, Mr. Atulya Nath, GIIP President, also described the newly formed alliance with Software Technology Group (STG), whereby GIIP training programs will be available through STG's state-of-the-art training centres at Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.

The field of IP covers patents, trademarks, trade secrets, designs and other creative forms of human endeavor increasingly constitutes very significant component of success for Companies and nations. The creation, protection and management of IP in such industries as IT, pharma, auto, agriculture, manufacturing, LPOs and others require highly trained professionals. The demand for IP professionals in India is rising, as Research and Development (R&D) activities of both multi-national and Indian Companies continues to enjoy significant growth rates.

GIIP, University of Washington's CASRIP, and STG plan to offer Post Graduate Diploma and Certificate programs in International Patents & Intellectual Property services. The target audience for these programs is Graduates, Post-graduates & PhD's in pure sciences, Life sciences, engineering, biotechnology, pharmacy, etc. including Professors and professionals in similar disciplines. The program will be available across major metros of India and will be delivered using STG's state-of-the-art technology infrastructure for online classes to be conducted by IP practitioners and experts from US, Europe and India. The Diploma and Certificate programs combined will be of 6.5-month (full time) in duration and students have an option to avail education loan from HDFC Bank for the program.

Under this association, University of Washington's CASRIP will provide education and credits to its flagship Intellectual Property Law and Policy Program. The program will have intensive education and training focused on emerging intellectual property issues relating to legal background and technological innovation in all fields. Using STG's infrastructure, this program will be offered in cities of Bangalore, Kolkata and Mumbai, apart from New Delhi.
