Satyam unveils STB solution at CES

Satyam Computer Services Ltd, on January 09, 2008 has announced that it has released an enhanced version of its Set Top Box (STB) middleware framework at the International Consumer Electronics Show (ICES) here. The new framework enables manufacturers of STBs, devices that transform external signals into content delivered via a television screen, to offer a rich variety of features and functions via a standard "plug-and-play" middleware platform. As a result, these organizations can target segments of the STB market more quickly and accurately, and bring more competitive products to these segments faster, and at lower costs.

The Company's flexible framework supports satellite, cable, terrestrial, and Internet protocol STBs. It also features robust application programming interface support, and is technology agnostic. "Moreover, it boasts a long list of features, including PVR, twin-tuner support, DVB / ATSC compliance, and MPEG-2/H.264 standard support.

"Our enhanced STB solution reflects the marketplace's desire for fast, flexible solutions," said TSK Murthy, head of Satyam's Integrated Engineering Solutions group. "It is a strong example of our team's ability to deliver broad and deep engineering innovation and provide comprehensive, integrated life-cycle support."
