HCL announces partnership with Mark Logic

HCL Technologies Ltd on January 24, 2008 has announced a new partnership with Mark Logic® Corporation, provider of the industry’s leading XML content servers. Under the terms of this agreement, the Company will serve as one of Mark Logic’s select services partners providing System Integration and Implementation services for MarkLogic Server.

As they deploy their new XML-based applications, customers now have streamlined access to a single source for complete XML solutions through HCL expertise. XML has emerged as the document markup standard with XQuery as the standard means for accessing collections of XML documents. MarkLogic Server was created to help customers effectively handle large volumes of XML content, and unlocks the value of XML content by allowing users to load, query, manipulate and render content with the most powerful XQuery Interface available.

HCL partners with Visiprise

HCL Technologies Ltd (HCL) has announced that the Company has entered into a global consulting partnership with Visiprise, Inc. for the Life Sciences industry, covering all aspects of the medical device manufacturing cycle. Visiprise provides manufacturing execution solutions (MES) that help global manufacturers to gain visibility into operations, achieve shop floor control and manage product and process traceability. The consulting agreement will include joint marketing, sales and pre-sales services and will result in the ability for seamless licensing, blueprinting, implementation, plant-business integration, roll out, support, upgrade / migration and instance consolidation services to manufacturers.

The strategic partnership will further strengthen HCL's position as "Innovators / leaders" in the Manufacturing IT landscape with initial focus on medical devices further expanding to Hitech, Aerospace, Auto and other discrete industries. Under this agreement Visiprise will also be training and certifying HCL consultants on Visiprise solutions.

Independent Global User Survey Ranks HCL Technologies No.1 in Infrastructure Outsourcing

HCL Technologies Ltd on November 26, 2007 has announced that it has been ranked as the world's No. 1 Infrastructure Outsourcing vendor by the Brown-Wilson Group for The Black Book of Outsourcing (Wiley Publishers). This report is a subset of the globally respected Annual Black Book Global User Survey.*

Of the 276 global vendors qualified for this survey, HCL, EDS, CSC, Unisys and IBM took the top five spots. The rankings were derived based on user ratings spanning 18 criteria of ITO Infrastructure Operational Excellence. HCL not only occupies the top spot on this list, but also holds the distinction of being the only Indian Company in the top 10.

Notably, HCL was ranked #1 in the following infrastructure sub-categories in this survey:

• ITO: On-Site Comprehensive / End-to-End Infrastructure Services

HCL Technologies - CA Partnership

HCL Technologies Ltd (HCL) has announced that CA Inc.(NYSE:CA) and the Company on November 13, 2007 has announced an agreement to establish a strategic partnership in which HCL will assume all research and product development connected with CA threat management security business. CA will retain all sales and marketing functions.

The goal of the strategic partnership is to grow CA's threat management business by combining the strengths of both organizations. The Company and CA will achieve goal alignment and financial targets through revenue sharing. The annual revenue of CA's threat management security business is in excess of U.S. $100 million.

The partnership covers all threat management products, which include anti-virus, anti-spy ware, integrated threat manager (ITM), host-based intrusion prevention system (HIPS), secure content manager (SCM), internet security suite, anti-spam and firewall.

"HCL brings to the table over three decades of product engineering heritage and a track record of successful partnerships that have created value. This partnership benefits CA and HCL, and, most importantly, the customers who rely on CA's threat management security products to protect their systems and data," said Shiv Nadar, HCL's chairman and chief strategy officer.

HCL will be responsible for research, engineering, architecture, technical support, technical writing, and quality assurance. All affected employees outside of European Union countries will be offered employment with the Company. Within the EU countries, CA will start the consultation process with the affected employees.

CA's threat management products will continue to be sold exclusively under the CA brand and through several routes to market with a growing emphasis on channel partners.

The partnership is expected to become operational by year-end, following the signing of a definitive agreement.

HCL Technology Hub at Noida

HCL Technologies Ltd has informed that the HCL technology Hub at Noida, National Capital Region of Delhi, was on November 01, 2007 inaugurated by Mr Kamal Nath, Hon'ble Minister of Commerce & Industry, in the presence of Chief Guest Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, Hon'ble Former President of India. Mr. P Chidambaram, Hon'ble Finance Minister presided over this function, Dr. Kalam in his key note address outlined his vision for the transformational role of technology in shaping the future of India and the world. HCL Technologies signs deal with Misys

HCL Technologies Ltd (HCL) has informed that the Company and Misys plc on October 30, 2007 announced a strategic partnership to open new markets and drive innovation, quality improvements and speed to market for key Misys financial services solutions in high growth economies.

There are three key elements to this winning partnership:

1. HCL selects Misys as its preferred banking software partner

2. Joint creation of an upgrade solution centre to expedite upgrades

3. Flexible global sourcing model for development to improve quality and speed to market
and gain access to HCL's world leading business processes and skills

1. Misys will be HCL's preferred banking software partner and the two Companies will jointly market Misys' award winning banking and treasury & capital markets solutions in India, Singapore and Malaysia. This is a landmark announcement enabling both Companies to gain market share in fast growing economies.

India is experiencing strong growth and analysts anticipate IT spend in the banking sector will continue to grow at up to 20% per year. Quest Diagnostics selects HCL

HCL Technologies Ltd has informed that Quest Diagnostics and HCL Technologies Ltd has announced the HCL has been engaged as a strategic technology partner to accelerate the launch of Quest Diagnostics India operations. HCL is working with Quest Diagnostics to establish and manage the Company’s information technology infrastructure.

HCL will host Quest Diagnostics’ India data center and provide network and IT support services from its state-of-the-art center in Noida, India. Additionally, HCL has collaborated with Quest Diagnostics to develop a unique patient health record product currently in pilot that will enable patients to store and manage their health records in a secure and portable manner.

HCL Technologies Ltd

HCL Technologies Ltd has announced that the Company has entered into a multi-year, multi-regional contract with Hercules Incorporated, a leading manufacturer and marketer of specialty chemicals. The scale of engagement includes end to end IT infrastructure management across datacenter, network, IT security, desktop and help desk services.

HCL has already completed the first phase of transitioning certain IT operations and is currently managing the majority of LIVE operations of Hercules' IT Infrastructure in the US. The transition of additional infrastructure support in Europe will be completed within the next month. Following the transition period, the collaborative co-sourcing arrangement is planned to comprise approximately 60% offshore and 40% on-site work distribution to help ensure 24x7 availability of Hercules' IT operations.

HCL Technologies Ltd has announced that in an August 2007 report by Forrester Research, Inc., an independent research firm, HCL Technologies Infrastructure Services Division (HCL ISO), has been cited as a 'Leader' in Forrester Wave European Remote Infrastructure Management, Q3 2007.

The Report evaluated the Company's capability in this space vis-à-vis 13 players including 3 Indian service providers and 7 global IT giants. "The Indian provider has a modest number of delivery and support centers but has a strong processes based on ITIL and a clear vision and road map for service enhancement." This positions the Company as a promising Company In RIM and highest ranked Indian Offshore firm in this market," the Report said. 'HCL Is best suited for infrastructure management with special care." The report also noted that "HCL is a good fit for buyers that require a partnership environment and want structured infrastructure transformation."

The Company received the highest score (5) on criteria such as consolidation and virtualization, service management, management tools, visions and productivity investments and partnerships. Overall the report rated the companies based on a comprehensive set of 37 evaluation criteria grouped under three main categories, namely, Current Offering, Strategy and Market Presence.
